Having been up & down to London these past weeks traveling on First Great Western trains and barely enjoying the experience this is one of the most inspired alternatives I have seen being proposed for the British rail network.... & even more inspired is that this design really does look at feel iconically "British"!

Priestmangoode has just unveiled their concept for the future of high-speed rail travel in the U.K. The Mercury is an ambitiously beautiful 'double-decker' solution with a proposed high-speed of 225mph, exciting interior and responsible manufacturing and environmental credentials that has been pitched to the U.K Government as a realistic and urgently needed form of low-carbon and sustainable transport.
